USA Volleyball announced Monday that Nebraska players Tracy Stalls and Logan View native Jordan Larson will train with members of the national team beginning in May.

Other college players chosen from tryouts include Stanford teammates Foluke Akinradewo and Cynthia Barboza and Florida’s Marcie Hampton. Players will be competing for roster spots for the Pan American Games.

Looking ahead to next season, NU officials announced that Husker volleyball matches against Penn State at Qwest Center Omaha and Hawaii at the Devaney Sports Center will be included in season-ticket packages.

Nebraska, the defending national champion, will play 18 home matches this fall, beginning with two matches in the AVCA Showcase at Qwest Center Omaha that are not included in season-ticket packages. Tickets for that event are available through Ticketmaster.com.

Seven of Nebraska’s eight 2007 nonconference opponents were NCAA qualifiers last season.

Nebraska will face the Nittany Lions on Sunday, Sept. 2, at Qwest Center Omaha as part of the Huskers’ annual Labor Day Tournament. The Huskers face Hawaii in a regular-season match Sunday, Oct. 21, at the Devaney Center.

“We applaud the teams like Hawaii and Penn State that wanted to come here and help us create great events that this sport needs,” Nebraska coach John Cook said.
