Members of the III-CORPS Drug Task Force made an arrest early Saturday morning for possession of one of the main components to making methamphetamine.
Kevin K. Hanson, 44, of Fremont was charged with possession of anhydrous ammonia, a Class III felony.
Deputy Chief Steve Tellatin said the III-CORPS Drug Task Force had gotten a tip that someone was stealing anhydrous ammonia from a businesses in Nickerson.
“III-CORPS surveiled the business, observed a vehicle pull up and park next to a building on private property as if it were trying to hide,” Tellatin said.
Officers found a propane tank that tested positive for anhydrous ammonia and paraphernalia normally associated with the theft of the chemical.
As of press time, Hanson remained in the Dodge County Jail in lieu of 10 percent of a $50,000 bond. No future court dates were available.
