Fremont woman hurt in house fire

One woman was treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire Tuesday afternoon.

Capt. Todd Bernt said firefighters were called to

1059 Dakota St. at 12:21 p.m. when a neighbor reported smoke coming from the home.

He said upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke coming from the attached garage and front door of the home.

A woman in the home was rescued about five minutes after firefighters arrived. She was transported to Fremont Area Medical Center for smoke inhalation. She was transferred to an Omaha hospital via Life Flight.

He said the fire was in the basement and was under control within about 15 minutes.

A cat in the home also was rescued and given oxygen at the scene.

The fire remains under investigation by the Nebraska State Fire Marshall’s office. An investigator was called in because a person was injured in the fire.

Damage was estimated at $30,000.

yes..i know how this is it happened to us in december it is very sad, but luckily there was no one home at the time when ours happened!again im sorry!You guys are in our thoughts and prayers<33

Our firefighters make a heroic save and they get two short columns in the paper. And the evening printed piece was riddled with errors at least the online version was correct. How about being investigative reporters and not newsroom relay drones.
