Jill Chapman

The funeral Mass for Jill D. Chapman, 49, of Fremont will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 3400 E. 16th St., in Fremont.

She died Friday, June 27, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

She was born May 17, 1959, in Wayne. She lived in Wayne, O’Neil and Plainview before moving to Fremont in 1970. She was a 1977 graduate of Fremont High School and a graduate of Bahner School of Beauty. She was owner/operator of Mane Attractions in Fremont.

She married William “Bill” Chapman on March 29, 1986, in Fremont.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont, was a cantor and in the bell choir at church.

Survivors include: her husband, Bill Chapman of Fremont; two sons, Jerimiah Layman of Fremont and Raymie Layman of Omaha; a daughter, Taylor Chapman of Fremont; her parents, Carlene (Nissen) Bowen of Fremont and John Bowen of Clear Lake, S.D.; four sisters, Dawn (and husband, Jeff) Bussey of Albion, Mary (and husband, John) Lasaitis of Fort Collins, Colo., Kirsten (and husband, Mike) Becker and Jenny (and husband, Chris) Lowe, all of Fremont; and a granddaughter, Jaydin Layman of Yutan.

She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.

The Rev. Eric Olsen will officiate Thursday’s service. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the family receiving friends from 5:30-7 p.m. A prayer/scripture service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
