The funeral Mass for Roman L. Maly, 67, of Weston, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Plasi.
He died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln
He was born Aug. 24, 1940, in Touhy to Vladmir and Lucile (Jelinek) Maly. He attended elementary school in Touhy and graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1957. Following high school he worked at Economy Housing in Wahoo. On July 8, 1961, he married Margaret Brtek at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Plasi. Not long after, he started working for Kingery Construction in Lincoln, starting as a mechanic and later becoming the shop supervisor overseeing and organizing equipment for job sites. He worked there 45 years and retired in November 2006.
He was a parishioner at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, and his parents.
Survivors include: his son, Lyle (and wife, Linda) Maly of Weston; daughters, Linda Maly of Weston and Laura (and husband, Duane) Eivins of Wahoo; two grandchildren, Trevor Maly and Noah Eivins; sisters-in-law, Genevieve (Mrs. George) Egr of Weston and Mary Lou (Mrs. Stanley) Cihal of Wahoo; and brother-in-law Louis (and wife, Phyllis) Brtek of Norfolk.
The Rev. Thomas Brouillette will officiate Saturday’s service. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo. A Rosary will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery.
