Joseph R. “Bob” Jespersen, 71, of Fremont died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at his home.
He was born April 1, 1937, in Omaha to Joseph and Anna (Lundberg) Jespersen. He grew up in Omaha and moved to Fremont in 1958. He then moved to Norfolk in 1961 and returned to Fremont in 1968. He worked for Jessen Brothers doing grading and construction work. He worked as an electrician for IBEW of Omaha for approximately 10 years.
He married Betty Boyer in Omaha in 1955. They later divorced. He married Kimberly S. Christiansen on Oct. 1, 1978.
He was a former member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 200 of Fremont.
Survivors include: his wife; a son, Dan Jespersen of Fremont; two daughters, Susan McDunn of Fremont and Lori Prochaska of Wahoo; a brother, Gerald (and wife, Ann) Jespersen of Omaha; a sister, Nellie Jensen of Omaha; parents-in-law, Jack and Carolyn Christiansen of Fremont; sisters-in-law, Coleen Wilson of Lincoln and Carla Shepherd of Florida; brother-in-law, Brad Christiansen of Fremont; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and two sisters.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. John Emslie of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
